REVIEW | Garnier Ultra Blends Henna Blackberry Shampoo

I hardly experiment with my hair and stick to just same product for months or even years. However, I wanted to try this paraben free range  from Garnier Ultra blends ever since it came in the market. Finally, I got one from this range that is their  Ultra Blends Henna Blackberry shampoo which claims to give brilliant shine to dull hair. Read further to know how it worked for me..

Product claims and description :

It is made up of natural extracts and is paraben free. It transforms dull, dry and lifeless hair into vibrant hair with a brilliant shine.

My take on the product :

The shampoo is enriched with Henna and Blackberry extracts. Henna conditions your hair while blackberry is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C which turns dry/dull hair to shiny vibrant hair.

Ultra Blends Henna Blackberry comes in a sleek plum/purple transparent bottle with golden cap on it. It looks beautiful and you can see the remaining product. Although it looks sturdy, I still feel it is not travel friendly.  The product comes with gel like consistency with a hint of purple color to it. It has a pleasant fruity floral smell which I love 🙂 love 🙂

I usually wash my hair twice a week and oil my hair just once in a week. This shampoo has  managed to remove the oil completely with just one application. And I am happy with one rinse and I don’t need too much of the product. Rinsing twice has made my hair frizzy. I have medium length wavy/straight hair which tends to be frizzy if I get wrong with my hair care routine.  So I suggest to use this shampoo for just one wash and follow with a conditioner. I use a conditioner from dove. And this duo works fine for me.  I also want to try conditioner from ultra blends range thinking it may help more in reducing the dryness.

Post wash I use a matrix serum and let my hair dry. Have been using it for two months now and I have got a nice black shine and good texture to my hair. It has also made my hair very smooth and nice.  So true to its claims !! Also, its sweet scent lingers on my hair for about two days.  But it does dry out my hair if I skip using conditioner. I miss my conditioner when in hurry !! Not a good habit, right. So overall it is a good product  and I am happy with the results so far.

My Rating : 4/5

Pros :

  •  affordable.
  • gives a nice shine to hair when used regularly.
  •  available everywhere in India.
  • has caused no hair fall or dandruff.
  • is Paraben free.

Cons :

  • It still contains SLS even though it is paraben free.
  • Packaging might have been more sturdy.

Final verdict

It is a very good product and has suited my hair. In a paraben free range it is quite affordable. With natural extracts of Henna and blackberry it is a must buy. Ultra Blends Henna Blackberry gives a healthy shine to your hair when used regularly. Can be drying for very dry hair people, so pre and post wash conditioning will help with it. Definitely not a product to skip. You  gotta try it if you haven’t.

Thank you !!
